End of Lavender hedge and New Rose bed planned

By Scotkat

Been in my back garden all morning before and after rain.

Sad to see my lavenders going but they are old and do need replaced.

So think I may just keep small pots of lavender .

But I now want to turn this area in to a a small rose bed room for 6 roses .

Want nice scented roses.

Can anyone recommend so think this is what I shall spend the rest of my garden vouchers on .

I like David Austin roses, but I think there are so many different types, as long as they are scented they suit me.

I got Glenfiddich and Iceberg at Ashbrook and I have Hot Chocolate

Dobbies were a lot dearer for David Austin and they never had any I liked.

Hi Kath, I would just go for floribunda's, or if you can get them old english roses, these are the 2 most scented types, very few hybrid T roses are scented, just go to your favoured supplier, and pick out the colours you like, hope you find some you like, Derek.

I love David Austin roses too, love the old fashioned flower shapes and they smell wonderful as well. I have Graham Thomas, Evelyn and Eglantyne and all smell lovely.

These are nice Louisa but have my local GC did not have any of these .

And thats why I did not buy David Austin did not see any I liked.

But I have just noticed that Crocus have Glamis Castle and thought it appropriate that I should have this one growing in my garden with us being involved with Glamis Castle.

And I not living too far from the castle.

I'm sure you will choose well Kath - Karen might give you a few ideas. I think Glamis Castle would be very appropriate.
