They look lovely strong plants Scotkat.
I got some clematis from "M" but they are abit smaller than that so I will keep them inside for a bit longer.
That corner is gonna look beautiful :-)

Oooh, how interesting Kath. I look forward to seeing how they do. I have had no success with the winter flowering vars, except for the lovely armandii, which grew beautifully for me in my old garden until a very strong wind all but destroyed it and I removed it. I hope they do really well for you. I do have one Cirrhosa on my metal arch...I think it's 'freckles' but not absolutely sure to be did grow a bit last year, so hopefully this year it will get going properly. I think they can take a little while to get established, the winter flowering ones, so be patient! :)

You have a lovely selection there, Kath ... I noticed some very healthy buds on some of the Clems in our garden ... here's hoping there won't be a cold snap to harm them .....

I hope not ST but they are sheltered .

I was thinking if my clematis still leaves a space I may plant 2 small beechs as would not need to let them grow too tall.
