My Peggy Foo Vanda

By Scotkat

I am so excited my Vanda in her 2nd week in my possession has settled in and growth on flower spike is amazing .

So much so want share its growth with you all.

This morning notice thin black roots so now have discarded them seemingly these were old roots and of know use to plant.

I have just given it its daily water of only 30 minutes sitting in water then discard after that time.

Enjoy my blog

I know nothing about orchids , as not really "into" them, but I love the name of this one, and could sit and gaze into the vase of roots for hours, never mind 30 mins!!! LOL! :-)) Looking GR8!!!

Very interesting! Like David I know nothing about these plants. It would seem from what you say that it only needs to sit in water for 1/2 a day. Most curious!!!

Hello Balcony not half a day only half an hour each day in water.

Its truly amazing how quick the flower spike is growing.

Sorry, I meant 1/2 hour each day! Lol!

Is the wire there to keep it upright?

Hello Balcony here is another photo taken today outdoors before the rain.

There is no wire to keep it up right .

You may see a tag that look slike a wire but thats the name tag.

In morning roots will be dry an dwill need rehydrated again with their daily tipple of water.

So it's the tag I'm seeing & not a piece of wire to keep the plant upright! Thanks for making that clear.

Yes Balcony the tag:)

Leaves have started to turn yellow?

Does anyone know what could be wrong.?
