Rainbow(s)

We’ve had a couple of thunderstorms recently – lots of lightning and thunder but not as much rain as one would think…however, they have cooled the temperatures a bit and now we’re in the normal range for July/August, thank goodness!! After one thunderstorm a rainbow formed – I could see 4 different colors, and a very clear arc…as the sun set, the rainbow became a double rainbow!! I tried to take pictures with different camera settings just to see if they would come out…here are a few:

There was still lightning flashes when I took these – I hope you can see the double rainbows!:

I was amazed to be able to catch it! Had I not decided to take the trash out, I would have missed it. Hurray for trash day!

Me too, reminds me of Darwin, but we never had rainbows there. Yours is wonderful and I can also see the second one.

Thank you everyone for your comments! yes I was lucky to get the pictures - I thought they might not come out well, so I took quite a few! But I do love how you can actually see distinct bands of color on the rainbow in the third picture- usually the colors are more fuzzy...=)

Good shots, rainbows are always a sign of more rain they say.

Thanks Bobg, well...we've had some thunderstorms but they're more thunder than rain...lost of lightning...we could use more rain needs to cool off a bit! =)
