It stayed in our pond all afternoon. i crept up on it. we dont see many snakes over here - i have only seen a couple in my life.

the froghopper is the insect that covers itself in lots of bubbles (called coo coo spit) to protect itself from being eaten by birds. have a look in the bubbles next time u see some and there will be a froghopper in there . this froghopper is very young. ..

thanks i just looked that up but im not sure as it says it is normally limited to one stem, but 99% of the flowers on the plant are affected...... its really strange!

it has green foliary that i persume dies down and regrows - either that or they have self sown in the same places they were last year ;o)
i could try take some cuttings ;o)
i will take some more pics of it tommorrow so you can see

i dont remember buying these bulbs, but 3 have come up in the garden! they must have been mixed in with the daffs or something - nice suprise though ;o)

now that would make sence, so they might grow ok after all... ;o)
i planted them back in august last year as little bulbs and being new to growing them i didnt realise they would take so long... i am sure it will be worth the wait.

most of them are the free seeds from AG mag ;o) i am trying to get me other half to make my raised beds so i can put all these in..... the greenhouse is full too! thought i would plant all the seeds incase some didnt germinate and now i have loads!

doesnt look like this anymore ;o) choped out the buddliea a couple of weeks ago and we have put to lovely acers in one corner and a matching one in the other corner. we have also put some ferns round the bottom. i will post a pic of the new look (when it stops raining!! )

thank you. i do love photography and do enter a few of the online contests. i have tried selling on shutterpoint.com and managed to sell a few pics, but there are millions of good photos out there so the chances of even getting people to look at my pics on shutterpoint are slim! i am really not in it for the money anyway i just enjoy takeing pics to share with everyone. ;o)
i use a Nikon D70s with a sigma 105mm f2.8 macro lens for most of the pics on here.

that looks like a good idea. did you put holes in the bottom for drainage?
