I have never seen this shrub before. Lovely star shaped flowers.

I remember that storm so well - being further north we weren't affected so much - it took the lid off my dustbin (remember those?) lifted the bag of rubbish out and took it I know not where. The south and southeast had it really badly, dreadful damage.

Brilliant garage disguise - what a shame about the bonsai though, was it many years of lost work?

I can see what she meant its certainly well disguised..........

Gorgeous bulb and one of my favourites. I seem to be saying this a lot with many of the plants you have!
On photo - Sternbergia lutea
One of my favourites too. My mum used to have one by the back door and I loved it at all times of the year, even when dormant. That fat stem covered in next seasons buds was just as attractive to me.
I have just recently bought one from Beth Chatto's and guess where I am going to plant it?

I like your taste in plants.

And they make THE best cheese and onion sandwiches. Just roughly chop some leaves and put between cheese and bread. Done!

ps This looks like a double form of it if I am not mistaken?
On photo - Greater Celandine
Greater Celendine is not the same as the Celendine of spring Sandra. This is a Poppy relative and flowers mid late summer. One of my favourite plants. The sap really stains your skin orange though :-)

I have our native Rhodiola rosea. I saw this species recently on a trip to Beth Chatto's and saw it in the nursery. Nearly bought it too........damn!
On photo - Rhodiola heterodonta
I like this one too. We have it in a rock garden where I work and I like it for those leaves also. Good plant and quite underrated.
On photo - Hieracium maculatum
One of my favourite plants also. As you say, a little bit of a thug (vegetively and by seed!) but still has it's own charm and beauty.
On photo - Grim the Collier (Hieracium aur...
When I was a kid, I used to have this species of Kalanchoe. It produced loads of baby plantlets all along the edges of it's leaves. Cute and a great first memory of growing something when young.
