BUTTERFLY NEWS

We have 4 regular Peacock butterflies on the Buddlejas, today I sat & watched as 3 Peacocks & 3 Red Admirals flittered around the white Buddleja which they particularly love.
So as long as you have the right plants to attract them, these gorgeous creatures are around, if not as plentiful as when I was little. The thing I have noticed this year is where are the Ladybirds? I saw a couple very early on in the year but then nothing.

Not in this area either, I have only seen ONE ladybird. The butterflies are very few and far between, too, sadly.

we have 2 buddleha's and i don't recall seeing any butterflies this summer , i know they are generally in decline , which is a great shame, they are so lovely to see, all we get now is those pesky cabbage whites.
