Slugs and snails are the bane of every gardener, and since I’ve created my garden from a derelict ruin I reckon I’ve had more than my fair share to contend with. But as you can see from the accompanying photo I believe they are on the retreat!
In my experience they have no problem crossing stones from 50 to just 6mm! The trick in my opinion is to get the first generation and check inside those little ‘caves’ in your stone walls for any sneaky snails. Encourage the good guys and make regular patrols. Facilitate the latter by placing your most snail ravaged plants where you walk most. (These hostas are outside my kitchen window).

Fantastic Hostas! I hope to grow some this year in a newly-cleared area. I do hope I can get mine looking like yours! As you rightly say, look in all the nooks and crannies.

Those are amazing Hostas. You certainly are winning against the hungry slugs.
