Mike C's Blog ( 13 ) July already ?

Hi everyone, I can’t believe that it’s almost July first. What happened to June ? Next week is our 4th of July hoilday and once it arrives, the rest of the summer always seems go by quickly. I feel like it’s only been two or three weeks since it was the begining of May and I started working outside. Maybe it’s the unusual rainy weather that we’ve been having and not being able to get out there as much as I would like to that’s making me feel like time is flying. I’ve been in the garden in the rain many times but not in the heavy drenching rains that we’ve been having. I was walking around the garden this afternoon and observed that my garden is just about ready to pop with color from plants that will be the last for the season. The growing season is simply too short.

I’m very excited about the posibility of my garden being featured in our city newspaper sometime soon. They have been featuring a garden in the city in each Wednesday’s edition since the begining of June. They are doing this through the last week in August. A couple friends have been bugging me to send in the form and some photos so that my garden can get in the paper. I sent the form along a couple days ago so I’m hoping to be one of the chosen ones. I will keep you all posted. Now I no longer have an excuse for procrastinating about getting out there and weeding. I’ve got to get out there and make it all look just so :)

Yeah, good luck, Mike! :D Unfortunately (or is it?), you and I are in the same nation, so I can't really give you International recognition, but Tennessee's still quite a drive from Massachusetts, isn't it? hehe

Thanks so much everyone... When I was out in the back garden this morning I was thinking... wouldn't it be great if every single plant, vine and bush all bloomed at the same time. Of course we all know that it's not going to happen but it is great to see the garden take on a different look as plants start to flower.

Thanks Nancy... I wish I could send all this rain to the South. They could really use it. We just had another storm come through. It was like someone was throwing buckets of water againts the windows.

Hi there Mikec! Reading your blog, I wasn't familiar with your garden (pretty new to this site). So....I did a "walk through" of your photos....Wow!...how lovely and how busy you are. Your passion for gardening shows through bright and clear! You should definitely be featured in some publication. Good luck!
