You are busy, Michelle! Well, if you know anything about our weather here, what I say now will make complete sense, lol! Day 4 (!!) of wall-to-wall very warm sunshine? I think that Frid/Sat was Spring, Sat/Sun was summer, and today (Tues 29th) was, well, "Indian Summer". Tomorrow I may wake up and find that it is a "White Christmas" !! Cheers!

I just found this again when searching for chillies. Spring is here at last - I think. It's certainly light now until 9pm, so I can see what I'm doing outdoors for longer. Have you eaten all those chillies yet?

Think this one is a hot one, perhaps you could put how hot next to it as an added extra, just a thought, but then you probably know.

Great easy identification, I shall learn about chillis looking at these., love chillis. I would grow some but it wont be long before my son grows and can toddle, and could see something getting in his eyes or mouth, Guess just thinking about when I have done this myself and how much it hurst, especially when you have contact lenses in.

fine thanks hon, been very busy what with valentines day and mothers day soon aproaching. i don't mind pink or orange to be honest either will look good where it's planted, it is defo an 'Abraham Darby' i bought it from the David Austin web site - proberly just my eyes, either that or my screen needs a good clean lol... like a lot of things really, but if i have spare time it generally gets spent in the garden lol i am a furm believer in the saying 'only dull women have immaculate houses!' lol will post some pics tho in the summer - you just try and stop me! lol

hi Michelle i planted one of these just before christmas, it looks very pink! i thought that it was more orange/peach - or is it just my eyes? it does'nt matter as i have pink in the bed it's in as well, so either will go well, and i must say it looks stunning - i am looking forward to seeing mine in flower!

Don't skimp on the soil preparation, Michelle! I hope you've given your prospective new friends lots of rotted manure to give them a lovely new home! Yes, it's hard work - but well worth it! Just keep looking at their photos in the catalogue and imagine them in your new front garden! Keep digging, girl. P.S. I hate couch grass too.....:-O

What a gr8 idea michelle. I hadn't thought of planting mine in hanging baskets, altho i do so with tumbling cherry toms. I just wonder, however, whether the chillies would do well in a Scottish summer in this way. Anyway, I have enough seed to try a few in baskets. Many thanx for giving me the idea.

Will do. Can recognise most of your varieties. Apparently, our dwarf "Praire Fire" grow to a height of only 10 inches high but with a broader spread. We have a long wait to find out here, however.

Hi, I have also successfully germinated some chilis, Peter sent me the seeds. They are capsicum frutescens.

We are about to sow some seed of a very dwarf variety called "Prairie Fire". Have you heard of this one? Best of Luck to you both with yours.

Oh struth!! You lucky Sheila! I love Australia, well from what I've seen on the tv and everyone I know from there always have a sunny disposition. It is definitely on my list of things to do before I die to visit and take a long, long holiday.
I am going to try and grow a bouganvillea glabra which looks like the one you have there in a really hot spot and give it plenty of winter protection.
