Back in the West.

Back in the West.

Hello everyone,
Finally on the computer again and back to GOY. Not much time yet at the moment, but just wanted to let you all know we are fine, made the trip across like a breeze, even 6700 kms didn’t worry us one bit. Have seen so much, and I will share it all with you, pics included, but you have to wait a few days. I am now sitting on the floor and it is very bad for my back. Daughter is working at the desk and she only has one chair, lol.
The dogs were fabulous, travelled wonderfully well, even Pivot with his stitches not quite healed. They seemed to like every minute of it, every time we hopped outof the car for a break, they eagerly sniffed the ground and all the plants and shrubs around.
The best bit of news of course is that we have found a house. Yes, it is lovely and sitting on a bushy block of 2400 m2. The gardens are nice, but can do with some attention. It is fenced off close to the house, so the dogs will be safe to start with. Paul will make a new fence on the boundaries. There are lots of eucalypt trees, new and old and some fruit trees, including a grapefruit.
Anyway, must go, will post the stories soon. We should be in our house just before my birthday at the end of the month, so then pics from the new house and garden will follow.
See you soon….

Glad it was a good journey - I'm sure you'll be pleased to settle into your new home. I wonder which will come first - getting the house to your taste or starting on the garden, lol.

Just glimpsing before closing the laptop and look...thank you for your kind comments everyone. I can't wait to see the new house again of course, but we have to wait till settlement day in abt 3 weeks. Then of course my camera won't sit still. Meanwhile I will put the journey's report here.

Thank you everyone for reading the blog and of course the good wishes for the new place. I can't wait either to get in. We've just ordered a new bed, so we can have the long waited rest first.
Grammazoo, I cannot remember if I told the friends here about Pivot. He had an operation a week before we left Cairns. He had a hernia in his anal muscle, which caused him great discomfort and which needed fixing. It all came from an anal gland problem. In order to stop it from reoccurring, the vet told us he had to be desexed as well. Poor Pivot. It was a 2 hour operation, but she was marvellous and all stitches were internal or folded to the inside, so he would not chew or lick the stitches. Of course no jumping, running or the likes during 10 days. We had to lift him in and outof the car at first. But all went well and he's back to his old self again.
