Going away

Going away

Posted on 23 Aug, 2009 14 comments

No, I am not going away from GOY, but I will be away for a week. I promise to bring back lots of pics for you. I am going to seen my new and first great grandson!
The auction went flat. We had two offers, but too low and besides, they couldn’t get the finance. Banks are tight as a drum at the moment. So, after the auction we’ve had every weekend open days, including today again. Nobody came yesterday, nobody today, but as the agents were packing up their gear a couple pulled up and wanted to see the place and fell in love with it. Yes, well, I’ve heard that one again. We do have a beautiful big house and a huge garden, and we’ve had 5 people wanting to have it, but can’t afford it. But, I haven’t given up hope yet. Who knows what these people will come up with.
Meanwhile I am getting exhausted, as weeks fly by and it is so hard keeping the place spic and span. Hubby mows the lawns every week, I water them, so the grass stays green and grows, so he can mow them again, lol. But it is very dry and I am trying to keep the plants alive. Lucky some are doing fine and are even flowering, which is great. I’ve been able to put vases with flowers in the museum like tidy house, so it all looks good, smooth and plain easy to care off ( not telling them how much work it actually is, haha ).
The dogs too have been fabulous, as up to now we’ve had 14 open days in which we have to make ourselves invisible for an hour each time. We take them places, either walk in the park, shop or like today find a lovely shady spot near the river, parked the car, walked a bit and then we were just lying in the back of the car, we were that tired. Cully was with us, whilst Pivot was lying on the grass next to the car. It was 28C and a cool breeze was blowing.
Now, because I have been wanting to see this little baby and the houses we are interested in buying over there, hubby bought me a plane ticket and I’ll be leaving on the 1st Sept, the first day of spring. What better way to start spring than going to a spring baby.
I will have a lovely break for just 5 days, as the open days will be finished after next weekend and we’ll have a rest.
So, I will see Jeremiah, Molly, my daughters and my son and daughter in law and the grandchildren. My daughters house and garden and her partner, the man in her life!
Wow, so much to do in such short time. I will see 4 houses too. It will be exciting and to top it off I am staying with my best friend, who lives close to everyone.
But no time for blogging or reading here….
Thought I just let you know, my hubby is just the best!

Wow Marguerite, so many exciting things to pack in, you're going to have a whale of a time. Congrats on the new great grandson and have a lovely time catching up with your best friend and family. I love house hunting, good luck with it and when you get back, who knows, you may just have that buyer who is 'the one'.

Keep your spirits up, I always believe things happen for a reason or in your case even if it means waiting longer than we'd like, for a reason. All good things happen at the right time (I've been there, along with many others Im sure) then all of a sudden, things just pan out. Also, congratulations :-)

Ohh, so nice all your comments dear people. Thank you for the congrats. Haha, he's only one month old, but just starting to act "human", so I will perhaps even get a giggle outof him.
Yes, a whale of a time, did you know you can go whale watching too? But I won't have time and still cool there. My family lives south of Perth Madperth, on the coast, so yes I am flying diagonally across the continent.
The Norfolk, all of a sudden there are some enquiries today, so keeping fingers crossed again. One person lives a few hundred kms away and have been on the phone asking details and houseplans etc. So that sounds like they are getting stuck into thinking about it.
Well, that gives a ray of hope, so yes, one never can tell, and as you say, waiting might be in our advantage.
Thanks again everyone for reading my blog.

I will be thinking of you on the day you take off on your flight to the family, Marguerite - the 1st. of September will be my 60th. birthday, and we will be in the Isles of Scilly (off the far southwestern tip of the UK) somewhere I've always wanted to go - another hubby treat! Give that baby a big hug for me, will you? Sounds as though you deserve a break.
