Hi Lainedru, look for scale {cottony like masses} under the leaves, if found spray with an inseticidal soap. Also top dress with fertilizer it may have been stressed and just needs a pick me up. Goodluck Philip.

Great---- you have been working very hard -As Spritz says its far more creative to have a go and see the results of your hard work.
Good luck with the garden and best wishes,
Grenville.

Sounds as if it will be a picture! I know that 'instant'
gardens can and are done, just look at what the professionals do at the shows - but we normal people don't have either the money or gangs of gardeners working flat out, do we! So we have to try to be a bit patient and watch the new planting grow with pleasure at what we are achieving!

Sorry been busy with blogs work pond etc not too familiar with latin name but have an evergreen honeysuckle with orange flowers new variety recent introduction.Could this be what you referring to?
Has large glossy leaves much larger than other honeysuckles so like Spritz wouldnt recommend through trees as will eventually choke and dominate. Lonicera genus can be confusing as lonicera shrubs commonly used for hedging and bear little relation to honeysuckles. If it flowers then very unlikely to be shrub variety.

I have tried to track this plant down for you but it's not in my RHS book or on their website, I'm afraid. Maybe another member has one in their garden? My Honeysuckles (various) are all growing happily on trellises, if that's any help. I find that their stems get so strong that they get very tangled in trees, and I can't get them free very easily if I need to.

I remember some years back buying a Hosta named 'Silvery Slugproof ', unfortunately it didn't live up to it's name.

Some hostas have thicker/tougher leaves that are not so desirable to snails - a specialist hosta nursery should be able to advise you which ones. 'Halcyon', with large glaucous blue foliage, is certainly one to try

Wow, I think mine is even smaller than this one ! Another common name for it is Lily of the Valley bush. I can see yours has buds on it..........so does mine.
