So now that it’s warmed quite a bit and there isn’t much threat of frost.. the hubby and I have been outside quite a bit planting this and that. So much in fact that the inside of the house has been very very obviously neglected. Oops. I find it very difficult. I am not neccessarily impatient, but I do prefer immediate results.. I am very aware that gardens take a couple years to grow in, but I am just so eager for a beautiful yard. We planted some english ivy to run up our ugly ugly chain link fence and also some as a ground cover. I got my lily of the valley buds planted as well. We planted some sweetpea, morning glory, clematis, and honey suckle. We also made a wire trellis on the back fence for both the grape vine and the climbing rose bush. Not too much planting going on in the front yard. We did a bunch last fall, just waiting for them to come in. The lilies are coming up as well as the hostas planted last year. I finished planting the rest of my gladiolas along the boundary fence. It’s about time to start mowing. We put down some fertilizer a couple weeks ago and will mow and put down some seed. I don’t think the previous owner to this house ever spent time outside, because this yard was crap when we moved in. Oh well, just a fresh slate for us I suppose. I am adding some pictures today too.

Great---- you have been working very hard -As Spritz says its far more creative to have a go and see the results of your hard work.
Good luck with the garden and best wishes,

Sounds as if it will be a picture! I know that 'instant'
gardens can and are done, just look at what the professionals do at the shows - but we normal people don't have either the money or gangs of gardeners working flat out, do we! So we have to try to be a bit patient and watch the new planting grow with pleasure at what we are achieving!
