Late Summer beauties at Normanby

Last week we took a stroll round Normanby Hall for an hour as we hadn’t been all summer and since having Lottie, we hadn’t been at all. She was only 4 and a half weeks when we got her which is very early for a pup to leave it’s Mum, but as they weren’t with their Mum, we brought her home not realizing at the time that she wouldn’t be able to venture into the big wide world for another couple of months. On Thursday she’ll have her second lot of injections and then another week or two and she’ll be ready for walks……:o)

Meanwhile, we sneaked off and enjoyed a good walk and a look at the late summer beauties still on show….:o)

This beautiful stone trough is planted up with a variegated leaf Abutilon, red Pelargoniums and brilliant yellow Bidens…..a striking combination.

Against a background of drying Lavender, these tall white Nicotiana tower above shaded pink Cleome and Cosmos.

Huge flowers of mauve Scabious are a delight to see.

The blue/grey of spiky Eryngium combines perfectly with the soft pink of the Japanese Anemones..

No time for any more pics…..but next visit, hopefully there’ll be the 3 of us to stay as long as we like…..:o)))

Great day out Janey. I didn't realise Lottie was so tiny when you got her. You have done very well to look after such a tiny wee thing!! She is so cute!

Lovely pictures Janey, haven't been to Normanby since the kids were little, must have a trip, be lovely when you can take Lottie along she'll love it :-) Fudge likes to hold the lead like that too, as if he's taking me for a walk, lol, aren't they funny.

Thanks everyone for the lovely comments.....we're so lucky to have this nearby..:o) I'm sure Lottie will enjoy it as much as Finn did when he was well, there's one thing about a small dog...you can pick them up easy, and for a while she'll be having more carries than walks!
The alarm bells did ring when the owners said the pups were on their own, we thought we could give her more attention than she was getting and it's worked out well so far....she seems to have bonded well with us, she does like cat food better than dog.....now I wonder if she thinks she's a cat....?????????

He he....Dawn, they are funny Kathy, from the first time we put her on the lead, she just picked it up and trotted off, and does it every time now...which is fine if she's happy...:o)
You'll have to come up Amy, you would love the park, you could have a go then at wheeling Lotts....:o))
