Some great news about our garden! August 5th 2008.

Todays weather has been appalling in Bristol with lashing rain and grey skies. We needed to be cheered up, and we received some exciting news.
The garden writer from ‘The Mail’ newspaper arrived from London this morning and he was accompanied by a photographer. After spending several hours talking to us about our garden that is open to the public under The National Gardens Scheme we were informed that the garden will be given a whole page feature in the weekend edition of ‘The Mail’ some time this September 2008.
We pre- viewed some of the photos that were taken of our garden this morning and they are superb.
This was followed by more news that our garden will also be featured in a book to be published about garden design at some point in the future.
As soon as we have the date when the article will be published in the national newspaper we will let our friends on G.O.Y know, so that if you live in the U.K you might wish to obtain a copy.

You and your garden well deserve this tribute! I'm just sorry that the weather wasn't kinder, but glad that the photographer knew his stuff and got some good photos. It'll be £5 to speak to you soon! Famous or what?

Congratulations Alan and Grenville. I have twice had freelance writers/photographers visit my garden but nothing came of it but I am pleased for the two of you.
PS. I've been doing several slug patrols today - we have Bristol type weather! :-(

Well done. Next time you open to the Public you will be very busy indeed. . My Son opened his Garden , and I stood duty for parking the cars. An exciting event. It sounds as if you have that part all sorted. It's a fine thing to do.

Congratulations Grenville and Alan, Your garden is gorgeous and you deserve the fame, don't know if fortune goes with it but good luck if it does!! We always have the mail on Saturday but not Sunday . I'll watch out for the date so we don't miss it. Best wishes, joannie xx
