I also have some helleborus seed but not being an expert propagator am clueless as to what to do with them! Have you just stuck them in the ground with hope?

And I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a garden full of unidentified plants Irish! I'm a true amateur too so can't even tell what's a weed and what's a plant half the time. I guess as long as you like them they're not weeds...

hi lori, nice to meet you too. These were growing in a woodland in Cumbria this April, it was a really beautiful spot.

Hi Spitzhenry, in reply to your message about our willow - the one that's going - do you know whether one of these could be grown in a pot?
Ours is so large and the garden so tiny but, as you say, it is a lovely feature. So if we could take a cutting and grow a mini version it would be fab!
