When not to let your children near your garden!!!

I decided that my son of 16 years was old enough to be trusted to do some gardening on his own (big mistake!!!) all I asked him to do was to cut back some honeysuckle which was coming over the back fence – lets put it this way – he got a little carried away and kept cutting until now there is nothing left and I had 6 bin bags to take to the tip!!!
So to fill in the hole we decided to plant a few roses in memory of my Mum – so its become “Nan’s Place” with lots of her favourite plants (she had asthma and emphysema so couldnt have the plants indoors so loved them outside) – so included are two deep red roses – one called “My Mum” and ” Benjamin Britten” a David Austin variety (smells devine). Also loads of lillies, and lavender. I’ve also added a red clematis called “forever” so that should fill the gap along the back., with a few hebes to provide some middle colour so come next year it should be a riot of colour.

Sounds like a his enthusiasm hasn't ended in disaster - you'll have a bright patch of your garden that will bring back good memories of your mum :o)
