Trouble with the neighbours

*At this point there were ducks taking off from all over the garden and somehow, in the rush to get away, one poor little duck fell off the shed roof and ended up stuck between the fence and the shed. He didn’t have room to fly out again! The noise from the rest of the flock had to heard to be believed as he flapped and squawked.

To fee him I had to remove the roll of wire fencing, the boarding, etc etc which stops the tortoises for straying behind the shed. He walked out with nothing more than a few ruffled feathers and, just to show he wasn’t really scared, he wandered around the garden as if he owned it before flying back to the pond. Almost immediately the noise stopped.

They were back for breakfast again this morning…..!*

Lovely blog! I love ducks as I find them completely comical in everything they do! Your 'rescue' of the duck behind the shed is similar in a way to the rescue I had to make the other day. The sheep and new lambs were out on the meadow sloping down to our garden one lovely SUNNY day recently and the lambs were playing 'King of the Castle' on a low wall at the end of our garden. Naturally things got out of hand and one little lamb fell off the wall and into the garden. Like your flock of ducks - the other sheep and lambs set up an horrendous racket until I managed to grab the frantic lamb and pop her back onto the meadow, then peace reigned again.

Well done Nariz.
Was it that they were chased by the tortoises that made them fly away Ge?
Looks as though your going to need more seed, for a while at least.

I love ducks and had them as pets a few years ago in my old house.....glad you were able to free the poor duck that got stuck.....great pics.....

The tortoises are innocent, Toto! They are snug indoors still, eating me out of house and home. Lots of snow here today so I have spend the morning refilling feeders and de-icing them. No duck visitors today although I did throw food over the fence for them. Last time I did that I 'showered' our postman! Fortunately he has a sense of humour and just asked for marmalade on his toast next time :)
