I’ve had a really lovely morning – doing nothing very much!! First I hung my newly purchased squirrel-proof bird feeder in the garden by the front door and in view of the kitchen window. Secondly along comes squirrel but passes straight by on his way to the pond area. Success? Well, I’m not sure as no birds have been near it either! The robin did look but declined to try it out. Oh well, time will tell!

Then I was pleased to see my two collared doves return to the bird table but as it was empty they spent 10 minutes or so wandering around the garden, picking at this and that. I haven’t seen Ratty anymore but I am putting very small amounts of food out so its not such a temptation!

Now for the best bit – I spotted a little wren flitting around the bottom of the garden and, as my camera was in my hand all ready, I managed to get a photograph of Jenny Wren bathing in the flowerpot tray! She spent several minutes having a really good splash. It has really made my day!!

Who says miracles don’t happen?
