Woodland flowers/plants

I didn’t go up into the woods for a couple of days because of my sprained ankle. I am now hobbling much better and I was surprised at the change after just a few days of sunshine.

On the way back from the woods I saw a bright yellow butterfly (Brimstone?). I have never seen one before and unfortunately it fluttered by too quickly to catch on camera. Soon after I arrived home a friend telephoned, from across the village, to say she had seen a yellow butterfly. I wonder if it was the same one? :)

Thanks for confirming that it was a Brimstone, Sheila, I haven't seen one before :)

TT, my ankle is a lot better but I am still limping. It is so annoying because I need to do some heavy work in the garden and, what with the damaged finger too, I just can't get on. I am becoming rather grumpy with it :(

What a cheery site - I especially like the photo of the wood anemone. Flowers are so striking when they grow en masse like this as their colour becomes much more vivid.

I hope you had a good walk.

glad your out and about again Gee, lovely to walk in woodlands and see things come to life again. i have some bluebells to flower this year, i was given them by a client of mine who i have known since i was 16, unfortunatly i wont be seeing her again as she is very poorly and in hospital most of the time now, so i am so pleased she gave me the bluebells last year, each time they flower i will have her in my memories, she was a favourite client ;o) lovely pics Gee

You have wood anemonies and primroses already ? Nice to see them so early. It's surprising how quickly things grow this time of year now.
