After collapsing earlier today my darling little companion was gently put to sleep just a month short of her 17th birthday. I can’t say anymore but will be back soon. The photograph was taken just a few days ago.

Having just taken 2 catson ourselves, I can only imagine what heartache you must be feeling right now. Just remember that your book of many wonderful memories will FOREVER be in your heart and mind and that when you are ready to return , all your friends on GoY will be waiting with a hug and a shoulder.

Take very good care at this sad time Gee.

Its so sad to hear of your loss...even though she was 17 and had a good life
that is no consolation, when you are grieving, all you want is, them back
and near you again...it must feel so hard for you, the hurt must be terrible
after all, 17 yrs is a long time you shared with Chloe...i hope in time the hurt
will ease just a little, although the memories, will always be with you...
My thoughts are with you now, and i understand what you are going through
i have been there, so many times, but no words can make you feel any
better at this moment in time....

Just read this Gee so sad and sudden. Very long life for a doggie. You must be a very good doggie owner. I recall you said some time back that Chloe had a problem with her wish to walk on your lovely walk through the wood.

28 May, 2010

17 years of wonderful memories - Chloe was a lucky dog to have such a lovely home.

I have tried a couple of times to say 'thank you' for all of your very kind and encouraging comments but each time couldn't do it for tears. I can't say I am exactly dry-eyed at the moment but I have finally done it. As lots of you have said there are so many happy memories and I am trying to focus on those. Chloe and her brother Mungo certainly brightened up the lives of all my family over the last 17 years.

Ray and Jane - so sorry to hear about Hun, you must miss him.

30 May, 2010

Thats okay Gee..Hun..like Chloe...had the best of lives and was loved and cared for. All any of us could wish for.....Take care...

31 May, 2010

I am so sorry Gee. It is always so hard to lose someone you love so dearly regardless of whether they have 2 legs or 4. My thoughts are with you.

31 May, 2010

I can understand how you feel, Gee, we lost the last of the 5 dogs we brought back with us from Spain less than a year ago. She was nearly 16 years old. She was born in our flat in Spain & died in our flat here in the UK. All 5 of our dogs were born at home & three of them were from the same litter.

We still hold many memories of them all & sometimes a lump comes to your throat when you remember them.

31 May, 2010

So so sorry Gee, it all hurts badly, I know - she'll never be far from you. Thinking of you, take care.

31 May, 2010

I'm so sorry Gee, she was obviously a lovely, happy little girl and much loved. They are always with us:-)

Hi Gee, Sorry Im late, so sorry to hear you've lost Chloe, my thoughts are with you. x

6 Jun, 2010

Thanks, Dawn. I am still trying to get used to not having Chloe around. I find myself opening the back door last thing at night to let her out and each morning it seems strange that she is not on the end of the bed. The wildlife in the garden is keeping me occupied, baby squirrels visit daily and two ducks have almost taken up residence but don't seem to be nesting. I'm missing a lot on GoY because I just can't settle to anything very much at the moment. I've become a real fidget but no doubt things will ease with time. Take care.

7 Jun, 2010

It takes time to heal after loss, Gee, and we all try to cope with it the best way we can. We are all here for you my friend, and hoping our support at this saddest of times helps just a little. Keeping you close in my thoughts........

7 Jun, 2010

Oh Gee, I feel so sorry for you. I know what you are feeling, its horrible. The worst is when you've been out and come in and no one greets you :-( You must be feeling like you're not a peace, poor you. Im pleased you have baby squirrels and ducks though, how welcoming.
