I’m really pleased that we have our own frog spawn bubbling away in the pond this year. Last year a friend brought me some for our newish pond, and although we had tadpoles, I’d hardly seen any frogs during the year. The frog spawn that she brought was from a big puddle – safer than importing it from another pond which might also mean importing their pond weed! I hope we shall now have fewer slugs.

It may be too early in your part of the world. Ask people who have wild life ponds in your area. I believe ducks eat frog spawn!
