23 Feb, 2010

Thanks for being such good sports, there is one outright winner,.......and it is..........Amblealice!! it is a colocasia, I was just about to tell you how big it was, it is the size of a large orange. I was amazed when I saw it too, hope it grows as it cost me a fiver!!!! had to look on the internet to see which way up to plant it lol, the instructions on the packet said grow in water or mud?

23 Feb, 2010

Well Done Amblealice :) I really enjoyed playing this DD :)

24 Feb, 2010

Colocasia . . .would never have guessed it ! It's enormous !

24 Feb, 2010

Thank you (blush).....I have several of these lovely plants....yes San, you will need that greenhouse or a conservatory to keep 'em in over winter.
DD....they need a lot of water when they are growing....but I woudn't start them off in it. I remember when I got my first bulb, it took a while to get going. I suggest you pot it up with the top just below the surface of the compost, and give it some bottom heat if you can......best of luck with it!

24 Feb, 2010

thanx alice, will have to clear my spare room out then i can get some of these lovely plants that need over wintering :o))
