Beautiful day......

We met Siris and her OH for lunch at Otterbourne, but before that, we had a quick tour of Sues densely planted garden, where I am sure she could not shoehorn another plant in,even if she tried, but no doubt she will! as usual full of little treasures…..some of which we came home with thanks to her generosity
Then we went on to our Hampshire County Organisers garden…. The Cottage, a 3/4 acre garden which they have been opening for 30 years!! a true wildlife garden with over 30 bird species recorded, also producing their own honey! This blog is mainly for Dawn, regarding the beautiful Trilliums, of course the perfect settings , lots of trees,I took very few photographs, unlike me, but, it was hot!

I was taken with the white variegated honestly, not seen this for years!

A garden I would not like to look after, a great deal of work with many mature shrubs and unusual trees many large borders and woodland plus the bees.. we spent a couple of hours just relaxing, enjoying the company and the scenery, just pleased it wasn’t ours……..

It looks lovely. A very peaceful place to relax and enjoy. Rachel is in Dorset looking for a new home with her BF! She just texted me to say that she is too hot...so hot in fact that she can “feel her whole body shutting down”. Not a drama queen at all my Rachel! She’ll have to get used to it!

Thanks for thinking of me Dotty. The Trillium must have been quite a sight, it was so hot, sounds like you had a nice day with Siris, how lovely.

Weren't those Trillium grandiflorum gorgeous, so many. More weeds in their enormous garden than ours though, Dd.
Ps, I've another 5 plants to shoe horn in, after a visit to a Rate Plant sales at Leckford Estate today. You shouldn't have given me that NGS booklet!

Looks a lovely place to visit. I read different blogs and think of the different places that I missed when I lived in different places around England. Used to live in Romsey years ago and my daughter was born there. Loved Hampshire but my ex job relocated us to Essex.

Fascinating photos, Dotty ... a lovely day for you all !

Yes indeed! At long last I have a good reason to drag my OH down to the south of England to visit the places I've always wanted to go! And I might even get to a few GoY gardens too! :)

It is warm and sultry here in Dorset.
So. it's great to look at those images and wallow in the greenery . I know what you mean about upkeep, DD. I spent AGES last night just watering the camellias, the Acers and the few containers with various plants. Hope I don't have to do that every night! The main garden and pond area will have to look after themselves!

DD. What a small world. It was back in the late 80s that I live there. Used to see Charlie Dimmock walking around every now and again. I loved it there. So friendly. Don't think the money was quite there then
