I wish I didn't have squirrels, but I do agree they are rather pretty. Your one is looking very well fed!

I have squirrels where I live. I do really like squirrels, just not digging holes in my garden and eating my bulbs.

We have too many squirrels I'm always finding bulbs lying on the surface of the ground I'm not sure if they pull them up for fun or what ! Lovely photos and captions Angela :o)

Lovely blog, and so nice to seeing him enjoying the treats. I haven't had so many in my garden this year but there are loads in the woods. Good job he's got a sturdy perch as he looks rather chubby :)

We rarely get squirrels here, I've seen red ones in south west Scotland , we were in a bird hide, the best though was on Brownsea Island in Poole harbour......it was incredible they were up and down the trees, running in front of us we must have watched for an hour.......
the NT had cleared a lot of rhododendron ponticum and brushwood from under the trees and it seemed to suit the squirrels

Pam that must have been fun, I do believe they have them on the Isle of Wight, we really must pop over one day!
Gee he is a stout little chap, not surprised with what he put away the other day!!
Amy pleased you found it fun, we get our share but not that many....too many cats to see them off!!
Alex that is why we use the flakes, it works..
Feverfew a bit of a buster this one...
Meadowland we used Indian chilli flakes, very hot, too hot for me, a friend of a friend is Indian and she buys us the hottest at the wholesaler and in quantity lol

Well it works Alex for us.......we put it in the pots and then scrunch up wire netting, so far all the bulbs are coming through without any damage!!

You can't help loving them can you, even when cursing them:-)

When I was a student at Princeton University (USA) we had many squirrels which were jet black in color together with a few pure white albinos on campus grounds and they still scamper around the area to this day. In fact, I have never seen them anywhere else. Has anyone seen any squirrels of these colors in the UK?

I believe there are black squirrels here Loosestrife, but I've not seen one. I presume there will always be the odd albino too which, being so conspicuous, won't live long in the wild. I would love to have seen those on the campus grounds. Where my brother lives (Southport) they have the native red squirrels, but I haven't seen one of those either:-)
