WE USUALLY SPEND OUR HOLIDAY WITH SOME OF OUR CHILDREN PLUS GRANDCHILDREN IN FRANCE, AND THIS YEAR WAS NO DIFFERENT….
DECIDED ON A HOUSE WITH A SWIMMING POOL THIS TIME, WHAT A BONUS, WE ALL LIVED IN IT!!
THE HOUSE WAS (WHICH MAKES A CHANGE) SURROUNDED BY A BEAUTIFUL GARDEN, COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE GRASS WAS SO GREEN!! UNTIL THE AUTOMATIC WATERING SYSTEM CAME ON…..EVERY NIGHT! HERE ARE A FEW PHOTOS……

THE HIBISCUS WERE SO BEAUTIFUL, THERE WERE MANY ENGLISH SHRUBS AND TREES, VINES, LEMONS AND ORANGES, ALL IN BEAUTIFUL CONDITION….
WE THOUGHT THE DRAIN AND TAP COVER WAS SUCH A GOOD IDEA, FOUND ONE IN A FRENCH GARDENING BOOK AT 49 EUROS!!

WE ALWYS GO TO THE ZOO, ONE OF THE BEST WE HAVE EVEN VISITED, THE CHILDREN, AND THE ADULTS REALLY ENJOY THE DAY, TAKES US ABOUT 6 HOURS TO SEE ALL THE ANIMALS, AND HAVE A BITE TO EAT OF COURSE!!

THE ABOVE PICTURE IS OF THE GORILLA ENCLOSURE, LA PALMYRE ZOO IS FAMOUS FOR THEIR GORILLAS, UNFORTUNATELY FOR US THEY DECIDED IT WAS FAR TOO HOT TO PLAY, CANNOT SAY I BLAME THEM!!
WELL PART ONE DONE, PART TWO TO FOLLOW SHORTLY, HOPE YOU ENJOYED A TASTE OF FRANCE……

J'adore la France . . . m'importe ou!

Oui, d'accord!

It looks so beautiful! I just love France so much. It's so rural, and the French know how to enjoy life. Bless them for letting us join in from time to time. :)

Atlantic coast, not far from Cognac, north of Bordeaux I believe. A lovely part of France, looks like you fell on your feet with your accomodation too Dd! Love the outside tap too, very stylish. :-)

bonne journée mes amis, comment allez-vous tous.
We stay in La Palmyre which is on the Atlantic coast in the Charente Maritime (between Oleron and Gironde.
This is our tenth year now, the grandchildren love it, but it is getting so popular, especially in August!! out of season it is fantastic....(like most places in France!!).
Our whole family love the french way of life, we do have french blood in our veins, so that could be why?
Meadow we have friends who live near to Cognac in the heart of the countryside......magical
Gralew we looked for one in the GCs but could not find any, even looked online when we got home!!
Cinders it was a treat to have such beautiful surroundings this time, usually rented property the gardens are quite basic.
Xela a good choice this year, with the hot weather....
Stera we never want to come home, but we were very worried about the garden, and our poor daughter having to water every day!!
Jane Plant, the French are so relaxed where it comes to health and safety, even at the Zoo, so easy to fall in to the Rhino pen.........the female was having a standoff with the male, she had recently given birth! thanks for your kind comments, a lucky photo shot!!
Thanks to Sheila and Karen also TT pleased you enjoyed Blog one.......

What a great time you had Dottie with your family and what a super place to stay. The zoo looked great and the animals seemed happy in their environment.

Thanks Scottish and Lindak, we are very fussy about visiting the Zoo, the animals are very well looked after, and their quarters immaculate, huge amounts of money are spent on the upkeep each year.

We actually drove to the Dordogne with the children from here about 16 years ago! once was enough! It was quite a trip. We had an extremely wet week near Sarlat, then three beautiful days on the Vendee before driving up to Mont St. Michel for a day, then the ferry, then Legoland, then Lincolnshire to visit mum....then home! I can't believe we did that! Scott hates driving too!
