DOTTYDAISYS SPRING BLOG 2.

After a horrendous morning’s rain and sleet the sun came out, and, although rather blustery, we managed to get a lot done.
So a few more photos of the garden……..

My favourite photo as it shows the shadows, it also makes the garden look a lot larger than it is lol!!

Ceanothus, Fatshedera, and wall pot waiting for plant, too cold to put any bedding out yet…….

Another small Japanese area, with our cloud pruning which is being wired at the moment.

Looking to the bottom of the garden, through the herb bed with Olive Tree, roses and bits and bobs….

The path leads to the top of the garden (used to lead to a shed, since moved to join the others!!) a new bed has been created, but that’s another blog……..for another day. The tropical border has been started, but all the tender plants wont be added until we have some warmth, the Clematis and the roses are all in bud and the grape vine is up up and away!!
I hope you have enjoyed looking at our little patch as much as we enjoy creating it……

Its lovely Dd, I like the pathways, you have to take a walk to see whats hidden away, I like a garden whereby you have to walk around to discover its secrets as opposed to one thats all on show....

DD! I am so pleased you put these on! I have been waiting ages to see more photos of your garden. It's absolutely fantastic...really really wonderful. I wish I lived nearer, I would definitely come and visit. As for your bedding plant dilemma....might I be so bold as to suggest a beautiful lime green heuchera for your lady's hair. It would look amazing and there is quite a bit of shade there for it by the look of her. That way, you wouldn't have to keep changing it either. She's gorgeous btw. I love your Lutyens bench as well, the colour is fabulous. And the bird house, and the crazy paving, and the cloud pruning...there is so much interest!! :)))) Made me feel happy!

Thank you all so much for all your kind comments,I would love you to visit our garden what fun we would have, and I can certainly vouch for the cakes!!
To answer a few queries about Cloud pruning which is a Japanese method of training trees or shrubs into shapes resembling clouds(know as Nawsaki meaning garden tree) it takes many years of patience, and a lot of luck (not cutting off the wrong branch!!) but great fun.
Karen great idea re face planter using a Heuchera, at the moment I am growing a very pretty Nemesia blue white and yellow, which should look ok.
OH is still mending broken fences, but is slowly getting on top of it. Thanks again for looking.

Dotty - your garden has had some changes made to it since OH and I visited at the end of May last year! ... I have just looked back on the blogs from that time and have to say that pic 7 on this blog could be from another garden! ... No hedge or little 'sentry box' shed in view ... pleased the Dovecote remains ... garden looking gorgeous as ever ... :o)

25 Apr, 2012

Shirley thanks, just trying to improve some of the ugly bits, the Dovecote wont go we like that where it is, although that has been moved once, when the shrubs have grown and cover some of the fence up, it will look a lot better, if there is anything still standing after todays rain and wind!! how are you keeping these days?
