A few Pictures from our French holiday.......

All these were taken on route to and from Cherbourg to La Palmyre.

This is the Mayor’s residence they always have the best house and flowers…

This was the view to Le Mont St Michel from across the road from one our Hotel stops, taken early in the morning, so a little bit hazy..

Lovely way to display flowers…

Some nifty cloud pruning spotted in a local’s garden, made OH run over and take the photos.

Bedding created mostly using succulents, quite effective we thought.

These Palms line the way to the beach, most of them flowered while we were there…

Would love one of these carts in our garden (if only) lol

Such an array of plants growing in the rocks by the sea.

Even the memorials are beautifully kept….

Spotted this little chap in the garden where we were staying….

The beach after the French hols……quiet, lovely!! Ah well all over for another year…..start saving again, eaten the biscuits, drunk all the wine and it isn’t even Christmas yet hey ho!!

Lovely blog Dotty. I love the way the French take a pride in their public places . . . beautiful flowers everywhere you look, and as Grandmage says - no graffiti. If only our youngsters were as disciplined!

A lovely part of the world - and yes sheilabub I agree there are always wonderful floral displays in their towns, if I could speak fluent french I would live there.

Ah, how lovely! I would happily go to France for my holiday every year DD! Pity OH doesn't see it that way....can't blame him, it always rains when we go! Beautiful..Mayor's House was my favourite but they are all lovely photos.

If you lived there, Kfunsters, you would soon speak fluent French! Ca n'est pas difficile . . .

Glad you all enjoyed the photos, there is very little graffiti over there, and the French take a great deal of pride in looking after their villages and memorials, and the floral displays are a delight to see, and if it is a Village Fleuri the flowers are even more spectacular.

Why can't we be like that over here? That photo of St Michaels is fantastic. I loved going there....a magical place!

Very lovely Dotty. I suspect the Mayor doesnt put the work into his own garden.

Nice photos. I especially love the cloud pruning and the empty beach. Someone once said "Hell is other people". GOY members are an exception though, obviously.

Absolutely Frybo . . . I suspect that whoever said it meant other people "in the flesh" . . . and I also suspect that many on here much prefer to avoid crowds, but are more than happy to chat on line.

Too true Sheila, thanks Frybo, towel to towel is not my idea of fun....Dawn probably not.

Lovely to get the sand all to yourselves..it only seems to happen when the weather is bad..as you say Sheila..we all want to experience that "castaway" beach! Tho I could never sit on the sands crammed cheek by jowl, however good the weather! Lovely pics DD..do the French have a special law that chops off the hands of "graffiti nerds"???

It's sad when it's over Sandra but we have our memories ,you brought one back for me , did you go to the top of Mont St. Michael for the Omelette's ? we did after hearing how fab they were , we must have gone to the wrong bistro because it was quite ordinary :o( never mind there's always next year :o)

Amy we were unable to visit Mont St Michel as we were on the way back to Cherbourg to catch the ferry, we had a quick walk around the village of St Quentin and that was the view from across the field, as you say Amy next time, I like omelettes so I could be tempted.
Tet not all France is graffiti free...

No, I guess their cities cop it like ours do..and I did notice this holiday that all the pretty villages we passed thru didnt have graffiti, so guess its a "city" thing.
