oh dear dotty, whats causing this, is it badgers or moles

24 Jan, 2011

Linc It is still being hatched....San Badgers or Fox take your pick? we have both.

24 Jan, 2011

Good luck with your plans :o)

If it's Foxes, Dd, try human urine around the affected area of soil! Sounds awful, but when our local football club had a problem with Foxes digging around the goalmouths, the players were asked to 'perform' after the match and no Fox damage since. Fingers crossed. If it's Badgers, I'm clueless as to a deterrent. Good luck : o )

Seaburn I remember it well.......Pam we dont get any rabbits, just squirrels, badgers and Mr Fox....that is quite enough for one small garden!! Wagger Baldrick and I already have enough in common lol
Karen and Gee....I have to win this one, we open in four months....HELP!!

We have armadillos here, they dig huge burrows and are difficult to trap. The people with armadillo problems are the folks with nice lawns, because armadillos like the grubs that live in the sod. If your yard is full of moss, tree roots and weeds, as mine is, the armadillos leave you alone!
There's a powdered, concentrated mixture of fox and bobcat urine available that's said to repel prey animals such as rats and rabbits....wonder if something like that would work on whatever you have.

Looks like Badger to me as earth dug up would be thrown further back when its dug think of the length of legs to how far back the soil is.

perishing rabbits have been burrowing here again-- I've a long sandstone trough and they made life a misery throwing out all my little bulbs and rockery plants-- my cunning plan was to remove the top layer of soil and lay netting in and then replacing the soil-- they do try and have dug only today ( Grrrr) but only the top couple of inches-- I'm just hoping that they learn.......

also if you have a dog ........ if you can dot there poops around the fence on the out side .........this marks the territory of your animal , so others normally wont go there !!! we found this so 2 protect our hens ...

A dach's is perfect if you have badgers as they are a badger hound .

4 Feb, 2011

SBG we have to be careful he does not get stuck in their set, which is two gardens down from us.

5 Feb, 2011
