Spring Summer and early Autumn Colour

I agree with Homebird David your garden is packed full of beautiful plants it looks amazing .. BTW the grape vines are growing very well since they've been planted out :o)

Lovely looking plants, the rhodo's are so lush & gorgeous. Clematis is also looking splendid & I love that yellow rose. I'm envious of your acid soil.

Thank you all for your kind comments; since it is yet another cold wet day; (Bank Holiday Monday!) I have brewed a mug of tea, and shall address some of your comments.
Homebird: The Zantedechia is planted in the border soil, and is OK when they first flower, when they make a great splash of white to contrast with other early summer colour, however, after a couple of weeks of warm dry weather, the huge leaves loose so much water, the whole plant flops all over the place; it really needs a boggy area, which I can't put in, without re-planting the entire border! Regarding rose (Teasing Georgia) and the Clematis Jackmanii; I love planting contrasting - (complimentary colours); after establishing the yellow rose on the arch, I planted the purple clematis thinking how good they will look together: it did not occur to me that the would not be in bloom at the same time!! The roses were in full bloom, the clematis buds were showing colour, but none opened until the DAY AFTER the first flush of roses fell off!
Amy: The Penstemons you gave me are growing and flowering well; they look good with the Zinnias I grew from seed (freebies with Gardener's World Mag last spring;) I shall grow more next year, as they last a long time, and complement so many other colours.
Karen: I'm glad you liked the blue Iris, some of the pictures with the Yellow rose (Graham Thomas) work well together. The iris by the way, are the lucky survivors from my shameful neglect! See my past blog,

Greenfinger: I'm glad you liked the Rhodo's. Yes I am lucky to have great acid soil, there is not much of about in this part east Suffolk; It provides good potatoes and other veg, and my wine grapes thrive on it!

I'm pleased to hear the Penstemons have grown well for you David I did wonder if they were the ones in your photo .. :o))
