Painting with Larry

My daughter Mindi came by to help me with the high ceilings in my entry way..she is an EMT with an ambulance company..so thought if I needed helped after I toppled off my tall ladder it would be good for her to be there…
Right…well Larry decided he should climb the ladder first..

He and Mindi conversed about the whole idea of ladder climbing…

He had a look around from on high..

Looked at options for getting down…Love the toes perfectly lined up as he considers the going down the ladder rung options..think he was reading the little notice at the top there? hmmmm

To Mindi’s amusement he discussed options for getting down with her…LOL..

After a bit more discussion..Mindi agreed to take on the job of helping him down.

Larry at his full length and glory…Love that Cuddle Cat Larry…

P.S. Mindi is 5’6" tall..she is not a tiny woman..Larry how ever IS a big cat..LOL

Oh Larry...You were just up there checking out everything for safety reasons. He didn't want you getting hurt. Mind you, if you tied a roller to his tail he could probably have painted the ceiling for you.
By the way, I love the grey colour on your walls. Is that the new colour?

Good old Larry, looking after you. Bet he thought he was the cat's whiskers up there.
Just as well he didn't take a catnap while he was up there as you would never have got any work done.

Larry has been a big help..has a spot of paint on his fur from my work in the upstairs living room...still not quite finished up there but Mindi had time to come for the entry way which is the only place with the high ceilings...no Gilli..lol..this is the old gray color..I will be painting it in warmer colors..I am not a gray fan...This is the color it was when I first came and chose new colors over 4 years ago..just now getting them on..thankfully I bought the paint then too..lots of primer work to do...I have the living room almost done..all the hard stuff anyway now just the painting the walls..the ceiling and prep work is done...Mindi had time to come help do the entry..it is the only area with such high ceilings...and we will be working on it again today..with and even higher ladder..getting all the little spots with white paint instead of primer...on the ceiling...wonder if Larry will want to test it too!

What a lovely pussy cat he is.

Cat, what a great group of pix. Love that cat! He's probably trying to convince you that the grey coordinates with his fur, and wondering why you would want to change it. Glad you had Mindy over for the high parts. Even Larry probably couldn't manage ringing 911. Hate painting, love the fresh look of it when I'm done.
I'm proud that Larry is my cat-nephew.

Wow! What a beauty! Is he from Texas?

10 Mar, 2009

Nope Washington born and bred...LOL..part Maine Coon..part tabby...just a big guy..has been since he was a kitten..Mindi actually had his mama kitty who would not nurse her babies, so Mindi and her friend hand fed Larry and his siblings until they were big enough to give away. She always loves to snuggle him up..since she was his mama for a while there...

That's a big cat! He almost looks like a stuffed animal...but very cute how he considers getting down...

You should have see him climbing up.! Mindi & I just watched in amazement at his length stretching it self gingerly to the top..had never seen him climb anything like that before..lol..I ran for my camera just as he reached the top..have been tempted to set the ladder up for him to climb up again..but am afraid I would not be able to get him down on my own...lol...and it would be so sad to have him stuck up there.... ;o)

I love the pretentious superiority of cats when they are above us but when they cant get down they turn on the helpless charm ;-)

He never got to the mewling stage on the ladder..we were telling him to come on down now..and he considered it but looked at Mindi like "Well...do you expect me to climb down?" as we wanted to use the ladder and were on a bit of a time schedule we did his bidding...other wise we may have left him there to his own devices...lol...

Thanks for this lovely blog, super cat! Reminds me of my 16 pound cat Tigger, who I have to haul off the fence most mornings. He has arthritic knees and it hurts him to jump down. It's so funny trying to pick him up off the fence in a dignified manner but he pretends to act like its normal, toooo funny!! Love your cat!

Great blog and a great cat, is he a Maine Coon? and I've got to ask how much does he weigh? (hope it's not rude to ask a cat his weight - wouldn't want to offend larry). Mine is part maine coon, they are large cats, very loyal and loving thay say.

He is part Maine Coon..his father looked like a big grey freight train and his mother was a tiny little gray and white tabby. He is around 25 lbs...He is a very loving Cat and loyal to anyone who will pet him and allow him to pet them as well...LOL..

Well, he looks gorgeous, your very lucky. Mine is also very loving and very loyal - to anyone who feeds him, he as daft as a brush and seems to love workmen in hi-vis for some reason!!!
