Ok guys- Stupid of me to forget that water freezes in the winter- especially in Scotland- Thanks for putting me right!

On question - drip irrigation?

Terratoonie -if I can find the Hammerite wellies- I will send u a pic....

No not really -it blows from the east (left) where the gates are!

Terratoonie - I have a pair of wellies somewhere in the garage which my daughter purchased to visit 'T' in-the-Park.
- In her great wisdom she she decided to spray paint them with 'Hammerite' black METAL paint!!!.....That was about a year ago - I don't think they are dry yet!!!!! haaaaaahaaaa!

Virginia creeper. I love the colour of this plant- I bought one last season and another last month. Can't wait to see it spreading! I might try layering but I am impatient with plants....Any feeding tips?

On question - virginia creeper

I meant to add that not all in the pic will stay there for Winter....I have yet to make a trip to the local recycle depot with over due garage items to clear some space for my plants.

Thanks for your input guys....I have taken a pic of my 'gathering'....

I have a south facing window in the garage- and most containers are plastic.... I will upload a pic mid-week....
although my sprinkler is embarassingly cheap!

I do have a south window in the garage Bamboo.
An excellent idea Wagger!

On question - marguerrites

Thanks Bamboo- Just hope I can remember all that......The 'cool' room might have to be the garage....!

Can I just leave them in the containers they are rooted in -or should I take them out?

On question - marguerrites

How long does it flower?

Thanks guys- Lots of food for thought....

On question - Palm

Noseypotter- Please forgive my 'slow' reply....I don't know how I missed your reply!
"is the palm an outside palm"
I assumed they were-because they were on sale in an outdoor part of Homebase or B&Q....

Thanks for your response.....Had I realised how slooooow these are I would probably not have considered buying....! I just thought at the time they would add an 'exotic' flavour to my garden.
I usually water until I see it trickling from the bottom...Is that too much?

The other thing is - pot sizes; I have known for some time that you are supposed to go through sizes a step at a time- but never been too sure why?

On question - Palm

I really must thank all of you for responding so positively!
May I just add that I'm fairly sure I have defeated the dreaded grey squirrels by covering bare compost with a pea gravel....I don't think they like getting this under their little nails!
I hasten to add- most of my plants are in containers and gravel may not be practical in many gardens....

On question - Crocus

"So long as the tufty bit was down you should be ok."

Oh NO!- What now????

On question - Crocus

I have to say -I cannot understand why ANYone would even consider allowing their dogs to use their garden as a toilet!!!!????

You could try hanging Christmas mirror baubles as apparently birds are afraid of their own image....Or find a big cat!

Thank you!!

Lovely shot- Reminds me of the time I 'chased' a big beautiful electric blue variation of Dragonfly while I was in a park in Tenerife- then, just when it settled on a beautiful water-lily- my 35mm camera ran out of film! Thank God for current digital!!!
