Another winter walk

Even when it was very deep the dogs have loved being out in the snow and this is a record of one day’s walks to the beach.
Some really moody cloud pictures~and the dogs seemed to be impervious to the cold!

I love pic 3 with those front legs deep in the snow!

They really seem to be enjoying themselves as well! :-))

You say they don't seem to feel the cold, yet they have next to no fur to keep them warm. Perhaps they have a layer of fat under their skins to keep them warm.

beautiful photos.

It isn't often you see the Three Cliffs with snow on them. I'm glad the dogs enjoyed :o)

Hope your snow is going?

Stunning wintry pics, Arlene. The "boys", as always, having a great time and, as you say, seemingly unperturbed by the cold, snow and freezing water. :-))

Good to see the boys having fun Arlene, the photo of the snow so close to the beach just shows how cold its been. Have a great New Year.

Stickitoffee~ this was Three Cliffs on the Gower Peninsula about 8 miles from Swansea~ there was ice around the edges of the river banks and on the shore line~

looked a little bit like a place i have been to ~ not so far from pontyclun???

~hi Milky~ it's gone all damp cloudy and miserable but considerably warmer!~most of the snow has now gone~
my hubby fell and banged the back of his head the Saturday before Christmas~was fortunately wearing a hood but still suffered temporary memory loss for about half an hour or so which was scary!!!~just as well it wasn't serious as they couldn't get an ambulance out~

Lovely pics, Arlene. But the sea does look COLD! We had a great week on the Gower a few years ago . . . I particularly remember Rhossilli where we had a spectacular walk. But the whole peninsula is stunning, isn't it.

Hi Stickitoffee
Pontyclun is about 45/50 miles away~ it's nearer to Southerndown (on the coast between Swansea and Cardiff) than Three Cliffs bay?

Hi Sheilabub
glad you enjoyed your week~ when we get the weather it's a lovely place to be!

Love the silouetted? pic of the dogs frolics on the beach and the upright pic of the storm cloud in the distance. Wish I had a walk like that outside my back door!!!! I live in rubbishy Romford where the revellers do the Xmas decorations tastefully. It's not sleigh bells in the snow but crisp bags in the slush and alcopops by the wall.

Like your husband, Arlene, I fell & banged the back of my head, only I did it on Friday morning at about 6.30 am as I was returning home after accompanying my wife to work. I was only less than 2 minutes from home as well! I didn't suffer memory loss, just a mild headache that a couple of painkillers cured. I had been so careful all the way home but I'd almost reached the bottom of the slope that leads to the underpass when all of a sudden I felt myself flying through the air backwards & banging my head hard on the ground. Took me a couple of minutes to get up but fortunately no damage done - well, they may have to patch up the hole I probably left behind! :-D LOL!

~sorry to hear you fell Balcony~ it's a real danger when there is sheet ice about~ glad to hear that you are okay! We are thinking off investing in those grippers you fit to your shoes from Amazon~ apparently can be worn whilst on pavement, rocky areas and ice and snow!
Feb last year my husband fell on sheet rock hard ice and broke his leg in three places so we can't be too careful! I'm thinking of padding everywhere or possibly hibernation!on the weekend saw
padded ski wear at Mountain Warehouse with thermal lining, half price!~sounds ideal,

Thanks for your concern, Arlene. :-)) Fortunately I must have a head as hard as rock myself! Almost 7 years ago I also slipped & banged my head, probably harder then than this time. I was in the centre of town, behind the shopping centre when I stepped on what looked to me like patch of ice free tarmac - only it was black ice, not tarmac!

This time I had to go up or down a slope to cross the last road before getting home. The up slope looked as bad as the down slope. I'd gone down about 3/4 of the slope when it happened. Perhaps seeing as I was near the end I may have stop paying close attention to how I put my feet down. While accompanying my wife my left foot slipped 4 or 5 times but the right only once. These things happen so fast that only after the fall, when you wonder what you are doing on the ground, do you realise you must have slipped! There is absolutely no previous warning! No doubt that's what happened to your husband as well. Perhaps the woollen hat gave me a tiny bit of protection. I didn't break anything or hurt myself in any other way - not even a bump on the back of my head! Just a mild headache that soon went away after I took some painkillers I have for my back.
