Hi Andrewr what a magical sight. No snow here and would you believe the sun is shining (Brixham) but its very cold - too cold for the garden.

Did your camera really pack up, or did you sneak off to a warmer location ? :o)
2 Feb, 2009
No, it's REALLY packed up.
And I'm due to go on holiday at the end of next week so might have to revert to an old camera with film in it

Maybe better than the camera packing up as soon as you arrived on holiday. At least you have time to find an alternative ~ albeit maybe one with ye olde filme. :o)

Unusual for you to be getting the worst of it - looks like we may catch up tonight though.Sounded like your camera had gone into shock seeing all this - mine pretty well used it .Hope you get sorted and you going somewhere a bit warmer - surely you not off to Kazhakstan again in this ?

Lots of snow there Andrew. Been snowing on and off all day. Just been out with the tape measure and we've had 10cm, so far.

BB - according to the news at lunchtime, the Thames Valley got the worst of it this time.
No, I'm not going on a botanising holiday this time. It's a general tour of Mexico taking in Mexico City and the ancient temple sites although I might spot the odd plant or two on the way round ;-)

What a surprise, a comment on the news - 'a fifth of the working population had to take the day off'. Sounds like a national duvet day to me.
Enjoy Mexico Andrew - hope the planes are taking off by then.

You've had a lot. Did your camera pack in because of the cold .

There I was this morning, writing to another member that the sun was out and we had no snow - well, I was right for a few moments and then it started! Not much at first, but the forecast is that we will get a whole lot tonight!
Might wake up to find that we are snowed in...no road gritters in the rural areas!
2 Feb, 2009
no road gritters here either Spritz, main roads are like ice rinks including A12 and the pavements are not too bad at the moment as it is so deep and still fuffy, recon it will be murder tomorrow if still no grit, we have had about a foot today, schools all shut, and most of my street stayed at home today. although did see lots of sledges going to the park accross the road. your pictures are lovely Andrew, and i am very jellous about Mexico, would love to go, have a tequilla for me won't you. ;-)
2 Feb, 2009
Hywel - no, I took the pictures from indoors through the windows. Only went outside all day to get food from the freezer
majeek - just the one tequilla?

Great photos Andrew. It looks like you got a good 6" or so. Its amazing how different everything looks in the snow.

Lol, maybe a few, but you know what they say 1 tequella, 2 tequella, 3 tequella, FLOOR! - just make sure your not standing to close to any cactus plants while your drinking them lol
