Camera set , Tripod in position, cold but fairly pleasant Weather for a good exposure. Next step I want is a subject. Tick Tock Tick Tock both blooming lawns deserted. Few days ago I did same and bagged a good shot of a squirrel , the fact I set the scene for Tubs the Robin was a little upsetting but there you go. No birds, no squirrel, not even a blooming movement in the garden bushes. Odd moment this is, maybe the wildlife prefers to stay in there nests, (its cold beyond the double glazing). Ecky thump I see a movement over the lawn fence! sorry its only our neighbours washing fluttering about. My good lady now beckons , guess Tubs escapes again. Take care all Tony

I am wondering where the birds are, newly filled feeders and not a bird in sight, maybe a bit of cold will wake up their appetites.

Hi Pamg Yes thats what came to mind. But our squirrel did pay a visit after my blog. I wonder if that upset the other wildlife. Take care Tony

I've found robins to be extremely camera shy. I once spent ages trying to get one sat on the top of a wellington boot (don't ask, it was something to do with the Olympics!) - even had a nice fat worm dangling over the side, but would a robin come?

Sparrows in abundance here thankfully, they nest in the hawthorn hedges that surround us and in the eaves of the house
Blue and great tits too
Sadly the linnets and yellowhammers we used to see are no more but goldfinches seem to have taken their place

Hi Pamg Wonderful variety pamg, wish we could get same here. In summer the Robins parade there family on the border fence (6 last year just like soldiers on guard), then sparrows ,so many of the latter. Nice to hear the noise they make. Very pleasant atmosphere so invigorating. Take care Tony

I too am wondering where the birds are , Tony. The only thing I can think , is that one day last week, a sparrow hawk came in the garden and flew straight at the large pyracantha bush where a lot of the birds, mostly sparrows live. One minute there were at least 20 sparrows and the robin and now only 3 ! I don't know where all the tits are , but having neighbours now, who put feeders out like I do, must be confusing for them all ! Come to mine ! ! !

Yes TT, that was the one. You can just make out the worm as well if you look closely

If its any help Rose the birds here like the fat balls.....the sparrows have learnt how to hang on by copying the bluetits I think!
Oh and those fat blocks too, but only the creamy coloured ones, the reddish ones are left until last cheeky birds!
