Tony, I bet your neighbours say " You are a very, very nice man" lol and your wife being very understanding lady, letting you use the spare bedroom for propogating the seedlings in the first place, well thats her way of encouraging you to grow more and showing an interest in what you are doing, popularity all round is a good thing,lol....

Well done Tony - perhaps you'll get some of your lettuces this time ?

Oh dear, Pet, you're going to have to sow a whole lot more seed than just six, Tony! Those 'lovely' neighbours of yours are bound to be lying in wait, salivating, waiting for your Little Gems to heart up! After all, they're bound to be starving waiting for the next harvest!
I think you have two alternatives-
1) When they're ready, you should fling open your greenhouse doors and in your best Elvis voice, sing "Love me Tender (hearted lettuces!)" and hand them out like the generous softy I know you are, or
2) Get Tiny involved, so by the time the lettuces are ready, you'll have taught him to say "Watch out for the slugs!" when the neighbours turn up on your doorstep! I'm sure he would love to nibble a couple of little holes in a leaf for authenticity!
Just make sure you save a couple for yourself and your good wife...Tiny can have a whole leaf to himself, he'll be as full as an egg!
