The Sunshine has rallied! It’s Springtime again!

The Sunshine has rallied! It’s Springtime again!

We woke to miserable weather again, but it cleared up around noon and off we went to Stourhead. Not that many Rhody’s out yet, surprisingly, but the fresh foliage on the trees was magnificent.

Karen, that's just how the day was here yesterday. I was grumpy as I had laundry to dry, put it on a clothes airer indoors but then the sun came out and it dried well out on the line ... hooray!

Next week looks set to be warmer and drier too ... :o)

Not here Shirley. Forecast is for a whole week of wind, rain and grey. Totally fed up now.

Karen, is today a dry weather day for you? I have just been out planting some home grown Sunflowers around the garden, a shorter variety than the giant ones. Rain is forecast late afternoon.

Well, Shirley, I must say, they got it wrong again. We have a warm day with some sunny spells and high cloud. I am perfectly happy! :) Thank you for thinking of me. X

Oh Karen, you sounded so cheesed off that I kept wondering how you were!

1 May, 2024

I was thinking of you too. I kept thinking I must let you know that all was ok. I wish forecasts could be better!

So do I, but it is what it is with the weather! Nothing us humans can do to change it.

You’re right Shirley. I find it hard to accept this at times!

Karen, yesterday we bought a 210 litre water butt to sit by the side of our existing one. It is almost full to the top after the rain in the thunder storm last night!

2 May, 2024

Goodness!

3 May, 2024

Indeed ... almost 2 hours of non-stop rain !

3 May, 2024

You’ve reminded me…need to get a water butt!

3 May, 2024

Karen, we now have three. Two are the 210 litre size, side by side with a feeder tube and then a slimline one, all catching rainfall from guttering.

Shirley, I’ve go my patio doors open!!!

Hooray! It has been a glorious sunny day here, so I have been gardening for a long time, at last. I had a cuppa in the summerhouse, listening to the birds singing and watched a Great Tit flying in and out of the Vine. It may have been looking for aphids or ants. Absolutely the best day of the year so far ... :o))

Yes, definitely!

4 May, 2024

It didn't last though ... grey and drizzly at times today.

5 May, 2024

Yup, same here. We had the town food festival today. Got soaked. Such a shame as you just don't want to hang about for long when its miserable. Still we did have a Burrito and some excellent Brownies!

5 May, 2024

That made me smile about the food! Wet day ahead here by the looks of things ... but the rest of the week is set to be a whole lot better.

6 May, 2024

Yes, same here, although it’s dry at the moment and my landscapers surprised me by turning up this morning! Hooray!

We've had a few good days weather wise, here. Another nice day forecasted today again. Lots of gardening planned for the afternoon.
OH bought 5 more alliums in bud yesterday and planted them out. 'He' has 13 in bud now. He's becoming obsessed with alliums!!!

Kate…that’s easily done. They are a very masculine flower too…sturdy, strong, architectural shape.
